Webex Update: Updated Login Process for Webex Meetings
Webex is introducing an update to the login process for hosting Webex Meetings. When hosting a session, a prompt will appear asking the teacher to authorize MEETS with their Webex account.
The authentication steps are as follow:
Upon pressing the "Host" button to launch the Webex session, a window will open, asking the instructor to authorize access to MEETS by logging in to their Webex account and giving permission. To make logging in easier, the prompt will display the email address associated with the teacher’s Webex account. A "Copy" button is available next to the email address for convenience. Ensure this email address is used when logging into Webex.
Proceed to Authenticate: Clicking the "Proceed" button will redirect the teacher to the Webex authentication page to complete the process.
Authentication Validity:
- Once authenticated, the session will remain valid for 3 months from the launch date.
- Hosting another session within this period automatically extends the authentication for an additional 3 months.
- If no session is hosted within the 3-month window, the teacher will need to re-authenticate with Webex when pressing on the "Host" button as above.
To be proactive, ISC2 encourages all instructors to login to D2L before any upcoming scheduled trainings and access your “Sandbox” course in your list of courses. Inside your “Sandbox” (Test Course), please click on the VIRTUAL CLASSROOM tab and QUICK LAUNCH a new “test” WebEx session and follow the instructions above. As long as you are able to validate your account and successfully launch your session, you will be good to go for your upcoming class.
If you do not see your Sandbox or have any questions/issues, please contact us at PD@isc2.org and we will look into your question/issue and contact you back ASAP to address.
