The following article includes some important notes when setting up Cisco Webex with MEETS regarding:

  1. Whitelisting sites with Webex
  2. Enabling Webex attendees to join before host

There are two versions of Webex, Webex Legacy and Webex CI. Please see the 2 options below and see which fits your Webex version.

  1. Webex CI (Control Hub):
    1. Whitelisting your integration platform: Go to the admin panel, admin.webex.com, and click on "Meeting".
Click on your site name, and then on "Configure Site"
    2. Go to Common Settings> Site Options

Find the section of "Allow the following URL domain names". Add a comma, and then add your MEETS domain to that field. Typically, your domain will be something like: <companyname>.meets.cirqlive.com.
Note: enter your MEETS domain into your WebEx Site settings without the https prefix.
    3. Enabling attendees to enter the session before the teacher: The integration allows students to log in up to 15 minutes previous to the session, even if the teacher has not logged in yet. This enables the session to begin timely. Some Webex sites have this functionality turned off by default in the admin panel.
To turn this option on, check the "Allow attendees or panelists to join before host" option.

2.  Webex Legacy (Site admin):

  1. Whitelisting your integration platform: Go to your Webex admin panel and select - Configuration>Common Site Settings> Options:
Then go to "Allow the following URL domain names"- you will find that webex.com appears in this window. After webex.com, enter a comma and then enter your CirQlive domain in the window. Your domain is the domain of your MEETS Administration platform. Typically, your domain will be: yourcompany.meets.cirqlive.com.
Note: Enter your MEETS domain into your Webex Site settings without the http prefix.
  2. Enabling attendees to enter the session before the teacher: The integration allows students to log in up to 15 minutes previous to the session, even if the teacher has not logged in yet. This enables the session to begin timely. Some Webex sites have this functionality turned off by default in the admin panel.
To turn this option on , check the “Allow attendees to join before host” option.
